Top Ten Tuesday: Fall Fashion

Happy Tuesday!

Since next week is the first official day of the fall season (the 22nd to be exact), and fall is my favorite, I thought I would write about my list of top ten fall fashion items!

1. Plaid.

Plaid flannel shirts are a must have this season.

{Source}
2. Don't pack away your white jeans just yet! Call me a rebel, but the whole, "no white after Labor Day" is not really a rule to follow anymore.

{Source}
3. Vests are a great statement piece to add and spice up any outfit.

Source Unknown
4. Bootie, bootie, bootie rock'n everywhere!  ;)

{Source}
5. A fabulous fall hat can be great, especially when you just throw something on and head out the door. Floppy hats or fedoras are my personal favorites!

{Source}
6. A scarf is probably my favorite fall accessory, and if you click on the source, there are some various ways to tie one.

{Source}
7. A classic, chic, chambray shirt!

This piece can be worn in several different ways:
Wear it alone, under a blazer, under a sweater, open over something else, pair it with a skirt, or tie it up over a maxi...the possibilities are endless! :)

{Source}
8. Colored jeans are so fun to me; maroon, forest green, and deep purple are great fall colors! Buy them in a skinny or boot cut, and you can wear them with flats or boots!

{Source}
9. I love keeping my dresses out and being able to continue wearing them in the cool, crisp weather! Just pair them with some leggings and boots and you're all set!

{Source}

10. Cardigans! You can never have too many cardigans, no matter what the season! Am I right, or am I right!?

Wear it over anything: tie it together with a belt over your dress with leggings, a plaid shirt, your fabulous chambray.

I hope these items inspired you for fall fashion!

What are some of your top ten fall fashion items?

Top Ten Tuesday: Uses for Baking Soda

I know, It sounds weird, a blog post with the focus on baking soda.

Let me preface with the fact that this product is amazing and I am going to share with you why in these top ten uses for it!

Baking Soda is an environmentally friendly product and a natural neutralizer.

1. With it being sunburn season again, I thought this first use would be appreciated. Soothe your sunburn by soaking in a lukewarm bath with a generous amount of baking soda (about half the box).

2. It can be used for an all purpose cleaner with Dawn dish soap and vinegar.

3. Cooking purposes, obviously.

4. In the kitchen, every refrigerator and freezer can benefit from an open box of baking soda in it to protect itself from unwanted odors.

5. As a glass stove top clean up, use baking soda and water in a solution or paste and you will keep the original finish.

6. Dealing with pet accidents of any form is no fun. My husband and I would be the first to tell you how much baking soda benefited us while living in a tiny loft in downtown Chattanooga with a claustrophobic lab (I diagnosed her myself).
Cover the infected area with baking soda, let it sit for awhile and it will not only help to remove the stain by soaking up the moisture, but the odor as well!

7. For laundry purposes, baking soda will help you rid of dirt, grime, and unwanted odors from soiled clothing and household linens. It will help whiten, brighten, and freshen.

8. Keep your hands soft by sprinkling baking soda in dish water when washing the dishes.

9. This product can be used for immediate relief from a bee sting or bug bite by making a paste and patting it on the infected area.
PS: When removing a bee/wasp stinger, always scrap it out with something such as a credit card, don't pluck it out because you may leave some behind.

10. When washing new baby clothes to remove any chemical finishes, wash them in a mild soap and 1/2 cup of baking soda.

This is only TEN reasons people, this product can be used for so much more!

Do you have any tips and tricks for baking soda that you would like to share?

xoxo,
Jen

Top Ten Tuesday: Kitchen Series

It's Tuesday again! :)

With the paint still sitting in our garage that is supposed to be the new color on our kitchen walls I decided to dedicate this weeks TTT to kitchens.

Here is a look at my personal Top Ten Kitchens that I may or may not drool over. ;)

1. The backsplash, the window treatment, the farmhouse sink, and that light fixture!

2. Oh my gosh, I just love exposed brick!

3. I love the built-in bookshelf for your cook books, what a great use of space!

4. I adore beadboard, especially in a kitchen!

5. The high ceilings, open shelving, and the large island are a few go-getters for me!

6. What a precious and welcoming cottage feel!

7. Painting the backdrop in your glass cabinets for a pop of color...brilliant!

8. Those beams are amazing and those numbered baskets above the cabinets are fairly easy on the eyes too!

9. This two-tone cabinetry is a nice change!

10. This is one of the best representations of dark cabinets with a light counter contrast...well done!

There you have it, this weeks Top Ten Tuesday: Kitchen series!

Which one was your favorite from the top ten?

Top Ten Tuesday: Baby Must-Haves

Happy Tuesday!
It has been awhile since I have blogged; where's the time going?!

A couple weeks ago my wonderful hubby and I took a day date trip to Tulsa, OK to register at BuyBuy Baby for our sweet Emma!

This place is amazing if you have never been, you should stop in if you are ever given the opportunity! It is an offspring of Bed Bath and Beyond (or vise versa, I'm not sure which came first), but anything and everything that you could ever need or want for a baby is here.

Also, BuyBuy Baby accepts 20% off coupons from Bed Bath and Beyond (and have their own as well), you can access any BuyBuy Baby registry at a Bed Bath and Beyond, and they price match!

I'll be honest, I was a little overwhelmed at first.

For instance, the wall of strollers.

This was the first thing we took on when getting there because we knew it would take us awhile, I mean how can it not, but we believe that we found the perfect one that will suit us and our baby girl.

Before we headed out for our trip, I began asking around about what the baby
must-haves are that we should register for and I thought I would share the wealth.

1. Diaper Genie

2. Pack-N-Play
This is great for traveling purposes.

3. Rock-N-Play Sleeper
Suggested by many.

4. Burp Cloths
You can never have too many.

5. SwaddleMe Blankets

6. Pacifier Variations
Everyone that I talked to recommended registering for a variety of pacifiers because you never know which type your little one will like and take.

7. Nursing Pillow

8. Breast Pump
All of my mommy friends recommend this brand of a breast pump.
Also, check with your insurance company because according to the new Affordable Care Act that was signed into law in 2010, your insurance may cover the cost of a breast pump for you. ~ You can read more about that at the link provided here.

9. Snot Suckers
Some people suggested the nasal aspirators that the hospital provides (similar to the first photo), and others suggested the NoseFrida.

10. A stroller with a car seat that fits together
This is the one that we chose.

Well, there you have it, a Top Ten list of baby must-have suggested items. I hope this helps several of you expectant mothers out there as much as it did me.

What are some of your top ten items for baby must-haves?

Have a great rest of the week!

Jen
